JONES v CITY OF NEW YORK DEPARTMENT OF CORRECTIONS
FACTS:
Female Correction Officer was groped and kept prisoner in Control room of Jail Facility at Riker's Island by former boyfriend Captain. The Captain had a history of abusing and harassing former employee girlfriends. The Department was aware of previous complaints by female employees.
RESULT:
A settlement of $135,000 was paid to the plaintiff and the Captain was forced to retire from the Department.
